Greetings!

I am a political economist studying agrarian society and politics in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. I earned my PhD from the Australian National University in 2024. It was awarded the Asian Studies Association of Australia’s John Legge Prize for best thesis. I have previously been a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Asia Research Institute at the National University of Singapore, and a sessional lecturer at the Australian National University.

My work takes an interdisciplinary approach to ‘development’ by linking debates in political science with those in anthropology, economics, history and sociology. More generally, I am interested in supporting small-scale farmers as they negotiate for their persistence with brokers and states, and amidst the flux of regional trade issues, poisoned ecologies, automation and climate change.
